Hey Guys! I was preparing the bath for Meeko the other day, suddenly i have this idea popped in my head! Why not i have a tutorial to show how to bathe a cat since i have a perfect model to demo.
Frequency:
Meeko has her bath at least once forthnightly since she is an indoor cat. Occassionally you can use wet tissues to wipe fur / leg areas.
Duration:
15 to 20 mins
Getting Ready:
1) Cat Shampoo
2) 1 Big towel
3) 1 Small towel / Sponge
4) 1 pail of warm water (est. 3 litres)
Here's How:
Step 1.
I will carry Meeko to the bathroom where she always poo poo. A place where she is not unfamilar and scared of. Remember to eliminate all possible escape routes until the bath is over.
Usually Meeko will know it's bath time after seeing the pails of water. So rmbr to bring the cat in first before you prepare the bath. Cat is intelligent & good memory of she does and even we do- she will be running for her life probably hiding under the bed or other low corners while you are preparing the bath.
Step 2.
I will start to wet Meeko's body area by pouring small scoops of water from the pail. She may start to run around the toilet to find way to escape and meow for pleading. I will calm her down by talking to her.
Then follow by adding the shampoo on her body & leg/tail area.
Remember not to have the water to reach the eyes and ears. So for the head part, i will use the small towel / sponge to soak with water and wet gently ard the head & under the chin area. Then i will wipe her face.
Step 3.
Rinse out. Make sure all the shampoo is wash out.
If Meeko's mood is okay, she will allow me to stand her up for throughout washing of her under-body.
Then wipe her body using the small towel/sponge to absorb the drain out the excess water for easier drying afterwards. Use the big towel to towel-dry her.

Step 4.
You just leave her alone now. She will lick off her fur dry for an hour continuously. You may lay newspaper and get her stay put there so that she wun sit on your bed or sofa with her wet body.
Make sure that she wun sit on the electrical applicances. Probably she thinks to dry herself faster. You neither want a electrocuted kitty nor spolit applicances.

Tips:
Pamper her with treats and a pet on her head after she dried herself to encourage her for the next bath. And not forgetting to play with her for a while.
